This intensive, 40 hour course will provide the student with the knowledge and ability to effectively use and instruct others in the use of patrol rifles such as the M-16/AR-15 family. It is specifically structured for law enforcement personnel who are assigned (or will be assigned) responsibility for instructing and maintaining a Department’s patrol rifle program. A comprehensive manual will be provided to each student.

This 16 hour POST certified comprehensive course will develop students as agency instructors in the use of less lethal munitions and launchers. Topics of instruction include liability concerns, types of less lethal munitions and launching systems, kinetic energy basics, physiological aspects, significant deployment factors, tactical considerations, deployment guidelines and other related topics. Students will be required to demonstrate the ability to instruct others within a classroom setting and on the range. Students will also have to pass a written test as well as demonstrate proficiency with their assigned less lethal launchers.

This intensive, 16-hour course will provide the student with the basic knowledge and ability to effectively use these weapons for both patrol & tactical applications. It is specifically structured for law enforcement personnel who are assigned (or will be assigned) responsibility for proper use of weapons such as the H&K MP-5, UMP-45 or Colt AR-15/M-16. A comprehensive manual will be provided to each student. This course complies with PC 12020 (b)(1) requirements for Short Barreled Rifles and meets POST's requirements for tactical firearms.

This two day comprehensive course will develop students as agency instructors in the use of diversionary devices. It is only open to tactical team personnel designated by their agency as diversionary device instructors. Topics of instruction include history & physics of diversionary devices, types of devices, general characteristics, effects on the human body, pre-deployment concerns, criteria for use, proper deployment techniques, tactical considerations, liability concerns, rendering safe, reloading, documentation, instructional techniques and other related topics. Students will be required to prepare a short lesson plan and demonstrate the ability to instruct others within a classroom setting. Students will also have to pass a written test as well as demonstrate proficiency with their agency’s approved diversionary devices.

The Active Shooter Response Instructor course will provide the student with the knowledge and ability to instruct his or her agency personnel in the history, tactics and concepts necessary for law enforcement personnel responding to active shooter, rapid intervention critical incidents. Topics will include history, applicable tactics, instructor and scenario development, range drills, legal aspects and incident management issues. Two days of classroom will be followed by one day of practical application and one day on the range. Students will be required to demonstrate their proficiency with the firearm in active shooter related drills, as an instructor during class presentations, and successfully pass a written test. Intended for Tactical Team members, this course is designed to provide basic and updated information on applicable duties and responsibilities. Topics of instruction will include leadership, decision making, operational lessons learned, case law, recommended practices and standards, operational issues, and other relevant topics. This course is open to SWAT team members as well as other tactical teams such as narcotics and gang units, high risk warrant service team members and other applicable law enforcement personnel.
This is structured to provide patrol officers, supervisors and other law enforcement personnel with the basic knowledge and skills to manage a variety of critical incidents. Topics include types of critical incidents, decision making, leadership, risk management, tactical considerations, command post operations and learning activities. A comprehensive manual will be provided to each student.
